The HEMA Foundation offers a variety of programs aimed at empowering women and addressing the challenges they face. These programs reflect the foundation’s commitment to addressing the multifaceted challenges faced by marginalized women and girls, particularly those with disabilities, and creating a more equitable and inclusive society.
Here are some of our key programs: Rehabilitation and Empowerment for Survivors of Domestic and Sexual Violence:
This program provides comprehensive support to women who have suffered from domestic and sexual violence. It includes safety and shelter, psychological counseling, legal aid, vocational training, and community reintegration.
Education for the Girl Child:
The foundation focuses on removing barriers to education for girls, particularly those in marginalized communities. This program aims to ensure that girls have access to quality education, which is crucial for their personal and professional development.
Economic Empowerment: Through grants and microloans, the foundation supports women in starting or expanding small businesses. This financial support helps women gain financial independence and contribute to their communities.
Sustainable Agriculture:
The foundation promotes sustainable agricultural practices among women in rural communities. This program aims to improve food security and livelihoods by teaching women modern and sustainable farming techniques.
Climate Change Adaptation and Resilience: This program focuses on developing inclusive strategies to help women, especially those with disabilities, adapt to and become resilient against the impacts of climate change.
Health Access: The foundation works to improve healthcare access for women, particularly those with disabilities. This includes providing medical attention and support to ensure their health needs are met.
Disability Inclusion: The foundation promotes the inclusion of women with disabilities in education, employment, and community participation. This program aims to ensure that these women have equal opportunities and are not left behind.

The HEMA Foundation was established in 2024, evolving from Sol Agronomies Limited, a company registered in 2014.
Sol Agronomies Limited initially focused on agriculture and agronomy services, likely emphasizing sustainability and empowering farmers through modern agricultural practices. Over the years, the organization recognized a broader need for social change, particularly in areas like gender equality, climate change mitigation, and support for marginalized groups, including persons with disabilities.
This realization led to the transformation of Sol Agronomies into the HEMA Foundation. The foundation inherited the values of sustainability from Sol Agronomies but expanded its scope to include social empowerment initiatives, particularly focusing on the rehabilitation of domestic and sexual violence victims, women's empowerment, climate change mitigation, and disability inclusion. This shift marks a significant evolution from an agricultural organization to one dedicated to broader social impact and advocacy.
Hema Foundation is dedicated to empowering women and young girls, when growing up, I saw the challenges faced by women, especially in terms of gender inequality and lack of opportunities for self-reliance, and felt compelled to create a platform that would address these issues.
Hema Foundation mission is to bridge the gap in opportunities for women by providing access to education, skills development, and financial independence.
I believe that by equipping women with the necessary tools and knowledge, we can dismantle the barriers of inequality and create a society where women can thrive.
